KEY FEATURES OF QAD PRECISION IMPORT MANAGEMENT

Simplified Product Classification
ACHIEVE A CONSISTENT CLASSIFICATION PROCESS
The most critical process of every importation is the proper classification of incoming products with the correct commodity codes. QAD Precision’s automated import management software offers access to the Harmonized Commodity Description and Coding System (HS) as well as ongoing access to current country-specific tariffs.
Our Classification Worksheet and GRI Wizard walks the user through the complex General Rules of Interpretation (GRIs), including those for ‘Sets’ and ‘Essential Character’ determinations, to help ensure that the correct commodity code is selected. Other unique features include:
-
Dashboards for prioritization and exception management
-
Search capabilities for previously imported ‘same/similar’ products
-
Integrated links to Customs’ Rulings and other key sites
-
Supervisor review requests
All classification determinations are added to the solution’s Global Product Item Master, capturing a product’s key attributes, supporting documentation and decision criteria, while automatically generating admissibility flags and identifying preferential duty eligibility under a Free Trade Agreement.
The Global Product Item Master also allows for multiple import and export commodity codes to be assigned to items based on country, thus ensuring a consistent and uniform application of HS Codes for companies with global import operations. The proper codes are then utilized for all documentation and customs reporting purposes.
Meet All Admissibility Criteria
PROACTIVELY IDENTIFY GOODS WITH ADMISSIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
QAD Precision’s import compliance solution checks your selected commodity codes against a requirements database for issues that would need to be addressed as a condition for import. These alerts help provide importers with advanced visibility to all admissibility requirements, thus providing the ability to proactively address them before a shipment arrives.
Identify Advantageous Sourcing Opportunities
PERFORM COMPARISONS AND FREE TRADE AGREEMENT SOLICITATIONS
QAD Precision’s import management software solution allows global trade professionals to perform a comparative analysis between potential source countries to identify advantageous duty rates, such as eligibility for Duty Free entry under a free trade agreement.
In addition, QAD Precision Free Trade Agreement (FTA) provides the tools to qualify origin for 470+ global FTAs recognized by the World Trade Organization. FTA origin determination is done in real-time with every order shipment.
QAD Precision supports ongoing FTA compliance. QAD Precision’s solicitation tool allows for automated targeted emails to be sent requesting updated Certificates of Origin.
Automatically Screen Vendors and Supply Chain Parties
VERIFY TRADING PARTNERS AND MITIGATE RISK
All businesses must ensure that they are not trading with sanctioned groups, individuals or entities. In addition, screening has now grown to include ‘Watch Lists’ for vendors with known financial, criminal, or ethics violations which would make them unsavory business partners.
With QAD Precision’s import compliance solution, importers can automatically screen suppliers and all parties end-to-end within the supply chain to mitigate regulatory exposure and reputational damage.
Import Entry Template
REDUCE OR ELIMINATE BROKER FEES
Using QAD Precision’s import management software, companies can create their own Customs Entry to perform an internal pre-entry audit of their data before submitting it to customs authorities (an industry-best practice). Users will then have the option of either pushing the completed entry to their customs broker, thus reducing broker fees, or use our Customs self filing solution to electronically file. The direct filing capability with customs authorities can eliminate broker fees entirely.
Automate Documentation Production
HAVE THE RIGHT DOCUMENTS, AT THE RIGHT TIME, ALL THE TIME
Never have goods stuck in Customs due to incomplete, incorrect or otherwise imperfect documentation. With QAD Precision Import Management, importers can automate import documentation production. Documentation is created in the correct format and in the correct language.
Recordkeeping & Self-Governance
PERFORM INTERNAL AUDITS AND TRACK IMPORT OPERATIONS METRICS
QAD Precision’s import management system supports post-entry record retention, allowing users to archive all documentation in accordance with regulations. This functionality also allows users to track metrics and KPIs and conduct operational analytics of all import activities, including vendor metrics.
