QAD Precision v18 also includes major new functionality — such as Import Management — and has pivoted to a microservices architecture as well as a Web UI interface.
Import Management
BEST-IN-CLASS IMPORT COMPLIANCE SOFTWARE
QAD Precision Import Management is designed to automate and execute the key processes and regulatory requirements associated with clearing a foreign-sourced shipment through Customs. The solution offers an array of specialized tools and controls to assist global trade professionals to execute critical import activities and ensure compliance with complex trade laws and regulations.
QAD Precision Import Management is workflow-enabled to aid in the control and execution of the overall trade process. Trade personnel are given proactive visibility to critical data and/or documentation requirements in advance of the shipment’s arrival, thus preventing damaging delays, costs, and/or regulatory exposure.
Global Trade Compliance
ENSURE EVERY ORDER MEETS INTERNATIONAL REGULATIONS
QAD Precision Global Trade Compliance provides the tools to maintain an effective trade compliance program for any type of shipment. Domestic, international, import or export, users are able to automate and audit processes and business rules to ensure due diligence with in-country regulatory programs or cross-border customs requirements.
With this release of users can configure translation options. Restricted party screening of names and addresses written in alphabets such as Chinese hanzi, Japanese kanji and other Asian logograms can be translated into English. Once translated, the English name and address are saved, along with the original, as part of the result details. Whitelisting has been enhanced to support this new feature.
Delivery Exception Management
360° VISIBILITY ACROSS YOUR VALUE CHAIN
QAD Precision Delivery Exception Management (DEM) gives organizations a centralized location for visibility into inbound and outbound shipments from carrier pick-up to delivery. DEM provides multi carrier status information about packages in-transit and exception alerts for packages at risk of missing the delivery dates.
New dashboards have been added with greater user configurability and drill down capabilities. These include charts for daily delivery summaries, exception summaries and anticipated late deliveries.
In version 18, a growing list of generic and carrier-specific tracking status update integrations are now supported.
Data from DEM can now be extracted from the solution, or accessed by external applications, if required. DEM is available as a microservice.
Freight Bill Audit & Pay
VERIFY FREIGHT COSTS AND CONTROL SPEND
QAD Precision Freight Bill Audit & Pay (FBAP) helps organizations cut costs and make smarter transportation decisions by identifying consolidation opportunities, cutting unnecessary freight and trimming shipping costs.
FBAP compares and matches the carrier invoice charges against estimates made at the time of shipping. FBAP identifies discrepancies that fall outside of allowed tolerances and raises an exception.
QAD Precision Freight Bill Audit & Pay can automate the auditing of invoices for both high volume and low volume shippers. The solution’s functionality is capable of processing, checking and reconciling high volume carrier invoices that are hundreds of pages long and include tens of thousands of line items. FBAP is available as a microservice.
Enhanced Microservices and User Experience
GREATER SCALABILITY AND EASE OF USE
With the release of QAD Precision 18 the Web UI has migrated to a microservices architecture. This separates new modules into individual services that can interact with each other and the core Web UI. Delivery Exception Management and Freight Bill Audit and Pay are now both available as microservices. This new architecture offers benefits with regard to scalability and updates, and allows for distributed deployment.
In addition, a WalkMe function has been added to the QAD Precision application. This enables GuideMe functionality — users are guided through the options available in the application by prompts.
Carriers and Carrier Services
ACCESS A GLOBAL UNRIVALLED CARRIER NETWORK
With every release of the QAD Precision solution, new carriers are added to our carrier network, servicing every region of the world.
In v18, updates to existing integrations have been made to support customers shipping between the European Union, Great Britain and Northern Ireland. This update takes into account the impact of Brexit on Northern Ireland (NI). As a result of the Northern Ireland Protocol within the Brexit withdrawal agreement, NI remains within the EU single market for goods, and must apply EU customs rules. Therefore, for trading purposes, the movement of goods between NI and Great Britain are considered an international shipment.
QAD Precision has also increased support for various types of carrier consolidation, in order to facilitate shipping between Northern Ireland, Great Britain and the European Union.
