Adaptive UX

Enterprise growth happens when employees are empowered to make fast, data-driven decisions through systems that are:

  • Intuitive, enabling rapid and lasting adoption
  • Collaborative, leveraging information across the organization
  • Familiar, aligning system interactions with business flows
  • Efficient, accelerating tasks by focusing on what’s relevant

Key Challenges

  • Workforce Turnover
  • Enterprises need to retain existing employees and quickly onboard new hires
  • Technology Expectations
  • The emerging talent pool is more familiar with apps than pen and paper

  • Change Management
  • Learning something new can be uncomfortable, even good changes are challenging
  • Digital Transformation
  • The potential of DX also comes with the risk of digital fatigue when systems lack a good user experience

  • Prioritization
  • Disruptions never align to your schedule, you need clear direction to make the biggest impact

Capabilities

  • Role-Based
  • System interactions tailored to job responsibilities so people see and act on relevant data, and aren’t distracted by things outside their role
  • Personalized
  • Giving every user the ability to save favorite views so the system works for them

  • Visual
  • Quickly understand information by seeing it in context of the story through embedded analytics and actionable insights
  • Guided
  • Access tips and training directly in the application for fast onboarding and easy reminders in low-frequency tasks

Adaptive User Experience

Enterprises invest in ERP and supply chain solutions to help optimize operational efficiency and improve decision making. However, brittle user interfaces often distract employees from the task at hand. An inadequate user experience not only impairs daily business operations, it also interferes with properly onboarding new employees, updating roles, restructuring and expansion.

To keep users of essential applications working effectively, the user experience should be intuitive, but also readily adapt to users’ preferences, changing roles and organizational standards. It should support decision makers by providing trusted analytics, real-time indicators, notifications and the ability to drill into underlying data. Users also need to dynamically collaborate with others involved in business processes, decisions and actions, and to track and manage exceptions.

To support an organization’'s geographical expansion and diversity requirements, the user experience should readily support multiple languages and personalization.

Solution

Adaptive UX leverages standards like HTML5 and native mobile user interfaces for iOS and Android devices for QAD Adaptive Applications. With Cloud-based solutions that provide an Adaptive UX, enterprises are empowered to conduct business from virtually anywhere on any device using modern browsers. Key capabilities include:

  • Action Centers
Many users will begin their business day by viewing their Action Center. Once in their Action Center, users can track real-time KPIs based on self-service embedded analytics, which are determined by role but can easily be modified. If an exception condition exists, users can drill down into relevant data. Action Centers include built-in collaboration, notifications and alerts that help ensure that users take appropriate business actions on a timely

  • In-Application Training
Employees need training, whether they are new to the organization, new to the role, or just new to the tools. QAD Adaptive UX delivers context-sensitive training within the application so users can be effective as quickly as possible

  • Security
Each user’s logon security determines, based on role, which menus and Action Centers the user can access. Users can have more than a single role and administrators can modify roles

  • Personalization
Users and administrators can easily modify user interface attributes, such as menus and fields. They can also save “Favorites,” simplify forms, hide and unhide fields, adjust panels and save views for themselves or others

  • The Activity Feed
The Activity Feed maintains a full history of activities that can be used to answer business questions, prompt action, and detect root causes of errors or exceptions

  • Process Maps
While frequent users often personalize and tune their experiences, less frequent users often rely on standard or preconfigured menus. Adaptive UX includes built-in process maps which can be customized, so users can visually understand their workstream. They can also access the functions they need just by clicking on individual processes in the map

  • Insights
Not all analytics and decisions are made strictly in the context of a predefined role. The “Insights” feature lets users, with a single click, dynamically generate analytic models based on their current process and data context. The user can then modify the suggested analytics, save the models they like, and share them with others

  • Mobile
The QAD Adaptive ERP mobile app, available from the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store, supports Activity Feeds, attachments, collaboration and built-in camera use to create and upload new attachments. It also supports Inbox Tasks, approvals and eSignatures

  • Future-proof
Adaptive UX takes full advantage of the user experience services provided by the QAD Enterprise Platform. Because of this design, as user experience services are enhanced and added to the platform, Adaptive UX surfaces those innovations immediately to platform-based applications, such as QAD Adaptive ERP
